More departure choices and a lower-cost non-reserved section on eligible trains
Some cars require a reserved-seat ticket and others do not. Read the car and ticket information before boarding.
A direct stop closer to the hotel or a regional connection
Routes can change and may not be as frequent as rail. Verify the stop and operating day.
Groups, late arrivals or destinations poorly served by rail
The airport is on an island, so distance, tolls and late-night charges make this a premium option.
02 · AFTER LANDING
Follow signs to Access Plaza and confirm whether you need a reserved-seat ticket for the chosen train.
At Meitetsu Nagoya, distinguish it from JR Nagoya and allow time to navigate the connected station complex.
Save the hotel exit number or landmark; the Nagoya station area has multiple buildings and underground routes.
If continuing to Takayama, the Kiso Valley or Ise, compare a Nagoya transfer with any current direct bus.
Check the final Meitetsu and bus departures after adding the Terminal 2 walk where relevant. Airport hotels are safer than assuming a late taxi will fit a fixed budget.
Walk from Meitetsu Nagoya to JR Nagoya for Shinkansen and limited express services. Leave at least 20–30 minutes if unfamiliar with the station or carrying large luggage.
µ-SKY is the easiest rail option with baggage. For rural stays, ask whether the property accepts delivery and keep one night’s essentials with you.
