Lake Biwa

Base plan: Otsu for Kyoto access; Hikone for a slower castle-town stay. Explore Lake Biwa on foot, then order Omi beef, funazushi and red konnyaku for your first regional dinner.

Hikone

Start early for Hikone. Keep the afternoon flexible for a local workshop or food stop, and look for Shigaraki pottery and Omi textiles.

DAY 03

Miho Museum

Use the final day for Miho Museum. Check the last return connection before departure and send large luggage ahead when buses are involved.
