Where is Shimane,
and why go?
Shimane follows the Sea of Japan coast west of Tottori. Matsue and Izumo are in the east, while Iwami Ginzan and the western coast require a longer onward journey.

HOW TO ARRIVE
Airport buses connect Izumo Airport with Matsue and Izumoshi. The Yakumo limited express links Matsue with Okayama.
