Where is Iwate,
and why go?
Iwate stretches along the Pacific side of northern Tohoku. Morioka is the inland transport base, Hiraizumi lies to the south and the Sanriku Coast runs along the east.

Take the airport bus from Iwate Hanamaki Airport to Morioka, or the Tohoku Shinkansen from Tokyo to Morioka.
