Where is Wakayama,
and why go?
Wakayama occupies the Kii Peninsula south of Osaka. Wakayama City is in the northwest, Koyasan is inland and the Kumano route runs along the distant southeast.

HOW TO ARRIVE
From Kansai Airport take JR via Hineno toward Wakayama. Koyasan uses Nankai rail and cable car; Kumano needs JR limited express and buses.
