At international arrivals, compare the next direct bus with the shuttle frequency and domestic-terminal walk.

For Hakata Station hotels, save the correct station exit; the subway ride is short but the station is large.

If connecting to Shinkansen, allow time to reach the JR gates above the subway station.
Protect the first night
Because the airport is close, a taxi is a realistic fallback for central Fukuoka. Still confirm that hotel reception remains open and do not assume a regional bus waits for a delayed flight.
Do not book it too tight
Hakata Station connects the Sanyo and Kyushu Shinkansen. For Beppu, Nagasaki, Kumamoto or rural areas, compare rail with a highway bus after checking the exact 2026 timetable.
Reduce the handling
The subway is simple but can be crowded. From the international terminal, a direct bus or taxi avoids lifting bags during the terminal transfer.
